One of the advantages of working from home is one can become Jill (or Jack) of most trades if not all. Sole proprietors are always looking for help and if you really (really) {really} want to earn income from home then you might want to start making yourself visible on the Internet.

Although I am not a virtual assistant and work full time, I often have people approach me with projects which I only accept if the money is decent and the task doesn’t take me away too much from my family.

Working from home is easy, and if you can show the tax auditors that you are indeed capable of making profit from home then you can allow yourself a couple of ’sweet’ deductions (guilt-free) within the auditor’s blessing.

So what services do you think you can offer—to bring home extra cash?  Draft a plan and put it into action. Make sure you have genuine plans of booking income (some just get into home business to show loss year after year - this is not a good idea) every year so that you are happy, your clients are happy and the tax auditors are super happy.

• Sanitizing and abstracting documents (Legal agreements, contracts, expert opinions etc.,)
• Income Tax Returns preparation (personal and corporate)
• Dicta typing
• Electronic filing
• Product Sales (Avon, Ethnic Designer Clothes, Chia Seeds, Goji Juice etc.,)
• Jewellery assembly

I have done all of the above in the last many years. On and off certainly, and have been able to show income on my tax return at the end of the year. You can do this all at a reasonable rate so that your clients get a discount and you get the side perks without guilt or fear.
