Rapid Fat Loss—Conclusion
For me, the weekends are the hardest. Saturdays are manageable but Sunday is the time when I get to be my own boss and do everything that I please. And what I please is to lay in bed all Sunday long, eating chocolates, drinking booze and watching movies!
The only thing wrong I do on Saturdays is that I don’t control what I eat after 3:00 p.m. I am very good during the day but the moment I get home, all bets are off! Sundays however are tough—because if there is something in the house—I will eat it! So the strategies these days is to not have anything in the pantry or the fridge that would derail me. (Then again, I can binge on shrimps as well!)
My final installment of this challenge then:
Saturday, June 14, 2008
8:00 a.m. Morning Workout: P90X + Kenpo Cardio - 40 minutes.
10:00 a.m. Breakfast: 1 instant oatmeal + 1 orange + 1 tetley tea.
4:00 p.m. 0.5 roast chicken, 0.5 cup chick peas (curried)
7:30 p.m. 1 cup strawberries, 1 orange, 2 small peaches, 2-3 oz Harvati cheese, 1 cup 1% warm milk
10:00 p.m. 1 yoplait tango selection yogurt, 1 tangerine, 1 apple, 20 almonds, 1 chamomile tea.
Water: 500 ml with morning workout. 1 litre here and there.
Calories: under 2000 calories
The Outcome:
Lost 6.7 pounds total on the scale. My goal was to lose over 5 # in one week and I did it. Let’s not forget that I was lifting weights twice per week so it is very likely that I have lost more but also gained muscle mass. My clothes feel better than they did last week so I am very pleased with the results. I am sure the great outcome was not only because of vigorous workouts but also because I limited my carbs to a minimum necessary. But I am curious – wonder if I would have lost more if I had not included oatmeal and sweet potato in my diet. That would have been eating as prescribed by Dr. Atkins. Just wondering!
I am back into wearing size 4 clothes comfortably. I feel much lighter than I did last week.
The Lesson:
The biggest lesson from all this is that regardless of what we believe—fact is, our mind IS in charge of our existence! My body on Wednesday past, refused to move but my mind made things happen. Then on Thursday my body refused to even listen (never mind obey) my mind, but my mind, like any good leader, allowed my body to get over whatever it was feeling and then ordered it back into my Nike shoes and doing Turbos. So please— do allow your body to moan and groan but always remember— the outcome will match your thoughts—so let the mind stay in charge!
The Future:
I dream of being in size 2 dress. No … the dress size is not what’s motivating me – what is motivating me is the challenges I would have to endure to get there! Right now, I am loving the punishment – and when the likes of Cathe Friedrich and Tony Horton are cracking the whip then all my mind can say is …. BRING IT!
