Good article. One topic that many people don’t really understand is the deductability of business expenses. They have to be reasonable and incurred for a business purpose. Employing your family and friends and paying them a salary is o.k. so long as: (1) the amount you pay them is reasonable and (2) they offer services to you [i.e. they are not just an employee on paper for the purpose of income-splitting] to help your business.

I really like what you’ve written and think many people can benefit from the information you provide.
